On this festival of Holi

You are in a different country when:
You wish your family and friends with festival greetings on email instead of wishing with a warm hug and gulal. You end up having message especially google searched and typed with colourful text and an added picture.

You are in a different country when:
Your messages to your friend or family are returned with the same email by just changing names.

You are in a different country when:
You wish festival greetings on email to your colleague (who belongs to the same country) right next to you. Doesn’t bother to shake hands and exchange sweets.

Its strange, but we still do that…

I am blessed

A recent experience, when life was going through tough times, I felt jealous, jealous of people who have "somethings" that I don't, and will take time and god's will to have in future. I thought do these people realise how blessed they are, for what they have others (like me) don't. A second thought just flashed simultaneously, am I aware that I am too blessed with other things which others may not have. It can be anything from having a family, or a home, or a job, or having limbs, etc. etc. I never thought that I am blessed with so many things, until this experience and I thank god for everything I have. Just a note: Of all the thoughts above doesn't mean I don't deserve "somethings" I long for. Its just that I have to try and keep my faith and hopes alive. I wish to see a bright sunny day after a long, dark night.

I need to discover

I need to discover...... my daily local to my office gives me more insight to life than the books or articles I read. Yesterday, I was reading article on the 'Mastery of emotions' wherein how an attitude makes difference in ones life. Today, its about this kid (not to mention kids are always cute and lovable) and his mother. The first look at the kid and his mother was they hail from poor family. The kid must be a year old and crying with pain and mother tried to calm him down. I thought its normal and didn't bother to look beyond. I kept chanting my daily prayers without much diversions. As my station neared, I went to the door. Its my habit to stand first and get out of the local, as early to avoid the rush on the over bridge (all efforts to save my 5 minutes). The mother was standing behind me with the kid. She wanted to get off at the same station as mine. A year passed by

A year passed by... With so many travels to India and back, I am exhausted. So many functions and events, some good, some bad, some as they should have been some not. So many lives touched, many new people met, shared some thoughts, shared many memories... A year passed by... When I look back, I am back to the same state where I started a year back.. but empty handed. A year passed by... I am back to square one
